I can’t believe it’s been more than four years since I graduated with my EMBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business. During that time a new class had graduated each year and Cohort 13 just graduated yesterday. When I graduated in 2010, we held our commencement ceremony with the rest of the b-school in May. Now that the timeline of the program has changed and they start in January and end in July, the EMBAs have their own ceremony.
Although the ceremony may not be quite as grand as the main school commencement that takes place in Comcast Center, it allows for a celebration of the EMBAs in a very personalized way. More than 300 guests of 41 graduates joined at the university’s Riggs Alumni Center to celebrate the successful completion of the 19-month executive MBA program.
It was nostalgic for me to see them graduate – and I got to serve as photographer for the event, which made it even more memorable.
Earlier this week, I served as a venture capitalist in their capstone business simulation competition. Special thanks to my team I invested in – they gave me a great ROI!
Congrats, Smith EMBA Cohort 13!
