Hi, my name is Adam Darchicourt, and I’m an Accounting major in the Robert H. Smith class of 2015. In the Fall, I’ll be travelling to Madrid, Spain to work on learning the language and broadening my worldview at the Instituto de Empresa. I’ve only been out of the country once (to Mexico for a week), so this is a really exciting- and scary- experience! I love to play guitar, go backpacking up mountains, play sports and games with my friends, cook, and occasionally be a beer snob. I’m really going to miss my friends and family! I hope to share some of the fun and education of my journey abroad with you through my blog.
Hello everyone. My name is Vinay Kantharia and I am a senior, finance and supply chain management double major at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. I like to stay active as much as I can on campus through my involvement in different clubs and intramural sports. I’m big into sports, food and movies. I love to travel, so a semester in Spain will provide me with a perfect opportunity to explore life in a foreign country. I’m excited to learn about new cultures, learn a new language, and see how the University of Maryland is both similar and different than the Universitat autonoma de Barcelona. I can’t wait to share my most memorable experiences with you all through this blog. ¡Vamos!
I’m Matt Koebel and I’ll be entering my third year as a Finance and Accounting student. This coming semester, I’ll be studying abroad in a small western German town called Vallendar with WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management as an exchange student. I like following the stock market and am interested in the possibility of a career abroad. In my free time, I love watching the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards as well as our own Terrapin baseball team. On campus, I am involved with the Investment Banking Club that a few friends and I started last year as well as being a Resident Assistant in Cambridge Hall. I look forward to a semester in Germany and being able to learn German finance.

I hope to get an understanding of the Eurozone struggles through classes, activities, and culture. At UMD, I am a Brother of Phi Sigma Pi Honors fraternity, and an employee at 251 North. I am very excited for this trip and getting the opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. See you in the spring, Maryland!
