Meet the Office of Career Service Graduate Assistant (GA) team!  The GAs are looking forward to meeting you and providing excellent career service advice to all of you.​

Amishi Shah – GA serving MS Accounting.
Amish is a first year Full-time MBA Student at the Smith School of Business focusing on Finance and Consulting. She holds a Bachelors of Commerce and a Bachelors of Law from India. She is a Chartered Accountant in India and also a CFA Level 3 Candidate. Prior to starting her MBA journey, she was working in Ernst & Young as a financial consultant. She likes to coach and mentor people and is really excited to work with her peers to help them achieve their career goals. Outside of her professional life, Amishi likes reading, hiking, yoga and singing.

William “Bill” Sanborn – GA serving MS Accounting.
Bill is currently a first-year MS Accounting student on the Public Accounting track. He earned his undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in 2012 while majoring in Business Economics. This past August, he transitioned off active-duty military where he was stationed in Hawaii for four years. His experiences while in the army included maintenance program management, logistics coordination and chemical protection.
Bill is incredibly excited to have the opportunity to meet with and assist fellow students in the community. His goal is to build relationships and provide a clear path to success for those looking to begin their careers after their time at R.H. Smith.

Chris Pirkle – GA serving MS Accounting.
Chris is a full-time MBA student in the Smith school with a Bachelor’s in business management economics and a Certified Public Accountant. He comes to the University of Maryland with 4 years of taxation and 6 years of educational administration experience. Most recently a Finance and Operations Manager for the Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions, Chris looks to resume his career after graduating in a Director of Finance and Operations role within either a non-profit or government agency.
Outside of his professional life Chris is active in Latin and Swing dance. He teaches beginner salsa and bachata and is a member of a local DMV swing team. He’s also an active rock climber, snowboarder, and ultra-runner, notably gearing up for a 100k early in September.

Featherine Anderson – GA serving MS Accounting.
Featherine is a first-year student pursing a dual degree in MBA and MSW. She was raised in various locations throughout the United States as a military dependent; Columbia, South Carolina is considered home. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree with a major in Psychology at Benedict College located in Columbia, South Carolina. She received her commission in the Medical Service Corps from the University of South Carolina in 2008 and served in the military for nine years as an Army Officer.
She is excited to be at the University of Maryland returning to the collegiate life and being a part of the Smith Community.  She looks forward to helping students in any capacity that she can as a member of the MS team.

John Park – GA serving MS Accounting.
John is a new MS Accounting student on the Internal Audit Track at Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. He graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a major in Financial Economics in 2015. He worked at Deck Helmet Inc. as a full-time staff accountant and Liberty Tax Service as an intern. He is now preparing for CPA exams.
He is delighted to share his work experience with students in Smith School. He is also willing to share his personal experience for the students who came to the United States for the first time such as major culture shock, attractions in DMV area, restaurant recommendations.

Mingqin Liu  – GA serving MS Accounting.
Mingqin is a second-year accounting graduate student and will graduate on December 2017. She got her bachelor degree in China. During past 2 years, she actively interned in different companies, including world-class firm EY and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board(PCAOB) in Washington D.C. She is also the VP Relationship of Graduate Student Accounting Association (GSAA) and admission ambassador for Robert Smith School of Business.
This is her second semester working in Office of Career Service. She really appreciates the opportunity being a graduate assistant. She wants to help students’ OCS-related concerns and enhance communication between peers and Office of Career Service.

Philip Clites – GA serving MS Accounting.
Philip is a graduate student in the Urban Planning program at the University of Maryland School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. A lifelong resident of Northern Virginia and the DC area, he graduated from George Mason University in 2012 with a degree in Accounting and Finance, and is a licensed CPA. After working at Ernst & Young for four years, he decided to leave public accounting and pursue a career in urban planning, where he could have a more direct impact on the future of the DC area. Following his time at Ernst & Young, he worked in the Mid-Atlantic office of national homebuilder Pulte Homes, where he performed financial feasibility studies for all new housing projects in Maryland and Virginia. He ultimately decided to leave Pulte in August 2017 to pursue graduate studies at UMD full-time. A graduate degree in urban planning will give Philip the tools he needs to address transportation, housing, and land use issues in the DC area.
Philip has a passion for personal development and coaching. During his time at Ernst & Young, he was a key member of the recruiting teams at George Mason University and The College of William & Mary, where he participated in career panels, resume workshops, and networking events. He also coached and mentored new accounting staff throughout various stages of their careers, from undergraduate student to full-time accountant. He is excited and grateful for this opportunity to share his experiences with students in the Robert H. Smith School of Business.

Runan Deng – GA serving MS Accounting.
Runan is a first year student in MSA Financial Accounting track. She is from China, and she studied Accounting in University of Maryland for her undergraduate degree. During her undergraduate study, Runan was an active member of Ascend and ABA and she participated in a lot of event planning. She has interned in KPMG consulting, and she is currently pursuing to become a CPA.
She is passionate in helping students to get involved into the big MS community. With her four-year study experience in UMD, she is very willing to share her personal experience and advises to new coming student and help them to get used to study and life here in UMD.

Pratik  Gandhi  – GA serving MS Information Systems.
is a first year Full-Time Smith MBA Student. He completed his undergraduate degrees in Finance and Information Systems from the Smith School as well. Prior to starting the MBA program, he worked for 3 years as a Project Controller for Deloitte Consulting on the State of Pennsylvania account. There he managed 5 projects; handling everything from budgets, staffing, invoicing, and contracts. Post-MBA, he hopes to transition into a Product Management role within the tech industry. In his free time, Pratik enjoys playing tennis, hiking, and watching movies.

Kuldeepak Kumar Sharma (aka KD) – GA serving MS Information Systems.
KD is a second-year MS in Information Systems student at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. 

KD has an overall experience of more than 8 years in various IT infrastructure management roles, including people management, service delivery, and project management. Through his current program, he has now pivoted to the field of data analytics and visualization.
KD interned this summer with the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (NTC) at the home of the US Open, as a Data Analytics Intern.
On a personal note, he has been married for about 3 years with a loving wife who shares his passion for travel and adventure.

Prachiti Phadke  – GA serving MS Information Systems.
Prachiti is a second year MS Information Systems student. She holds an undergraduate degree in Financial Accounting and Auditing and a graduate degree in Computer Applications from her home country, India. She just completed a summer internship with Colgate Palmolive Company where she worked primarily in Data Analytics and Visualization. She hopes to foray back into this sphere in either in the Healthcare or Consumer Goods industries. She has been an active part of fostering graduate student involvement in school activities through SMSA last semester and is excited about working with her peers to help them achieve their career goals. In her free time, she is an avid hiker and traveler and maintains a travel blog.

Shail Patil  – GA serving MS Information Systems.
Shail is a graduate student in the MS Information Systems program at the Robert H Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, India, graduating in May 2017. His strong technical background coupled with an innate sense of leadership stemming from his career as a professional cricketer for the state of Gujarat, India, made the MS program in a top Business program at the Smith School a natural next step.
This fearless Terp has joined the Office of Career Services with the goal of assisting his fellow students to achieve their career goals, and to work with his fellow Graduate Assistants to learn and imbibe the skills he needs to succeed in today’s competitive business environment.

Zheng Gong – GA serving MS Information Systems.
Zheng is a second year MS Information Systems student. He achieved his undergraduate degree in Management of Information System in Tsinghua University, China. He has passion for data mining and machine learning, and just completed a summer internship with FDA where he worked as a Data Analyst with text mining techniques. In his free time, he enjoys playing several instruments such as violin, piano and Chinese flute. He’s also a good chef of Chinese food.

Patrick Smith – GA serving MS Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Business & Management and Marketing Analytics.
Patrick is a first-year full time MBA student at the Smith School, focusing on Consulting and Data Analytics.  Prior to joining Smith, Patrick worked in various roles within the financial services industry, where he specialized in streamlining business processes using technology as an enabler.  He hopes to build off this experience and use an MBA from Smith to pivot into an IT consulting role.  Patrick holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware where he majored in Finance and Operations Management.

Tia Naveendran  – GA serving MS Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Business & Management and Marketing Analytics.
Tia is a full-time first-year MBA student at the Smith school. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013. Tia has approximately 4 years of experience in the financial services industry and is currently Series 7 and 63 licensed. In her most recent role she was an IT Project Officer at UBS. Tia is looking to use her MBA to transition from financial services into a marketing analytics role. She is passionate about pairing psychology with analytics to understand consumer behavior and drive brand management decisions. In her free time Tia enjoys spending time with her dog, trying new workouts, and exploring fashion and decor.

Tiffany Corpuz  – GA serving MS Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Business & Management and Marketing Analytics.
Tiffany is a first year MBA and MS in Supply Chain candidate at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Tiffany received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Syracuse University with a focus in Finance and Supply Chain Management. At Syracuse University, Tiffany was a Dean’s List Scholar and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Syracuse Chapter. Tiffany studied abroad in London, England and interned at The Work Foundation, a non-profit consulting firm. Tiffany was also a Procurement Intern for Pratt & Whitney during her junior year. After graduating from Syracuse University, Tiffany worked in the healthcare industry consulting patients on insurance and financial benefits and responsibilities. Tiffany is looking to transition back into Supply Chain Management with her MBA/MS in Supply Chain Dual Degree. In her spare time, Tiffany loves to read, watch sports, and cuddle with her pet Chihuahua, Reagan.

William Cornelison – GA serving MS Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Business & Management and Marketing Analytics.
William is a first-year full-time MBA student at Smith. Before starting this program he worked as a Senior Employment Specialist at the International Rescue Committee, where he assisted new Americans in finding employment. William’s focus at Smith is the General Management track, and he hopes to become a Leadership Development Associate in either the IT, Finance, or Hospitality industries. William holds a Bachelors of Music in Performance from the University of South Carolina. He is also experienced in analogue, black-and-white photography.
