On September 22nd, Smith Peers held the kick-off event of the semester in Van Munching Hall. This event brought together Smith graduate students with different backgrounds. Guest speakers from Deloitte, Smith Master Student Association, Graduate Student Accounting Association, Master Service Learning Club and APICS shared their experience in Smith school and provided tips for living in America to all the attendees.
‘Passion’ was a reoccurring word during the event and the speakers emphasized the importance of maximizing college life in Smith school. It goes without saying that employers look for candidate’s passion when recruiting. Passion is also pretty important in daily life when participating in different events.
College is the best time to explore all the possibilities, including meeting new people, polishing networking skills, and finding your own passions. Smith Peers aims to provide more opportunity to let people know each other and adapt to graduate student life. More events are on the way and please stay tuned.
