Campus Conference Calling

Throughout the Fall, Campus sent notices about the replacement of their conference call system.  Here’s the last one from December.  It includes their contact information should you have any questions:

Dear UMD Conference Call Account Owner,

This is a reminder that UMD’s Avaya conference calling system, which uses x52900 and is accessed online via, will be decommissioned during the university’s winter break on December 30, 2017. The university now offers WebEx, a more full-featured system that supports both Web meetings and conference calling.

With WebEx, you can:

  • Host larger meetings
  • Choose whether to use audio only or audio and video
  • Manage more meeting settings
  • Access meetings from worldwide locations or by using a campus extension (x50600)

Learn more about WebEx and how to get started by visiting the IT Service Catalog. A good place to start for getting set up is How to Use WebEx to Host Conference Calls.

If you have any questions or need assistance getting set up in WebEx, please call 301.405.1500, email, or visit Terrapin Tech in 1221 McKeldin Library.
