Scheduled Network Outages Affecting Many Buildings Across Campus 7-11 a.m. December 28
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017, there will be network outages affecting many campus buildings (see lists below). The outage at each building should be no longer than 30 minutes, but the outage window lasts until 11 a.m. During the outage there will be no network connectivity via wired and wireless connections to any devices, including VoIP telephones. In case of emergency during this time, carrying a cellphone is suggested, especially in the affected academic and administrative buildings.
During the outage, Division of IT technicians will upgrade campus network equipment and software. This upgrade has been scheduled during off-peak usage hours to minimize the impact to the UMD community. We regret any inconvenience.
