Global Disaster Preparedness Center (GDPC) seeks to fill an unpaid intern position to support the Business Preparedness Initiative. The GDPC, partially established by the American Red Cross Services, to prepare and safeguard communities from disasters by providing tools and services that are able to be scaled globally through the Red Cross and Red Crescent network.

In support of this initiative, the intern will work as part of a small team where you will have the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in innovation, and enhance skills in disaster preparedness, knowledge management, and proposal development. A demonstrated interest in development community resilience and basic knowledge of disaster preparedness and/or business continuity programming is essential. Interns work as integrated members of the entire GDPC and carry out professional level work in a supervised atmosphere.

Needed Skills: Research, Verbal/Written Communication, Critical Thinking

Requirements & Commitments: about 40 hours a week (somewhat flexible) and

Graduate students preferred (resume required)
