Distinguished UMD Alum Speaks on Leading Trends in Consulting with Analytics
Smith MBA students from the Full-Time, Part-Time and Online MBA Programs had the privilege of hearing Brian Murrow, Partner, IBM speak at this year’s Consulting & Analytics Super Day on Friday, February 1, 2019 which was held at Smith’s DC campus. Mr. Murrow, discussed leading trends in consulting with analytics to a highly engaged audience.
Following the keynote, students had the opportunity to network with alumni working in the functional areas of consulting and analytics over a dessert reception. The Super Day events were conceived of and developed four years ago with the goal of providing “bundled” career programming to MBA students as well as an opportunity to bring students from the various MBA programs together in order to network with one another and with Smith alumni.
In addition to the keynote and networking reception, the day also included mock interviews with alumni and company-specific case study practice sessions hosted by six guest employers. Derek Valet, a 2nd year Full-Time MBA student commented, “it is important that the Part-Time and Full-Time MBA’s get opportunities to network together so that employers can get a better perspective on how much talent the school has to offer.” As a result of this interactive opportunity, Booz Allen Hamilton extended 5 offers to Smith students!
