Tips from Enrico Clarke, a Part Time MBA Student Ambassador

Have you been thinking about one day pursuing an MBA but can’t exactly figure out which school would be best? A perspective student has many things to consider when selecting the best MBA program to fit their needs. Location, professors and cohort size are just a few major things to consider. The Part Time MBA program at the Smith School of Business offers three campuses to choose from: Baltimore, Shady Grove and Washington DC. Having the ability to select from multiple campuses when choosing electives makes it easier to discover the class that best fits your schedule!

The Smith School also has renowned professors that are cognizant of your busy job/school schedules. I have found my professors very understanding and they try their best to work with students around job-related conflicts. Time management also plays an integral role in allowing this to be possible. Since the professors often give a list of due dates for most assignment on the first day of class, it is very important to stay ahead of them.

Attending class with a smaller cohort also has countless benefits. Students have more opportunities to participate in class discussions and build more personal relationships with other students in the cohort. Students have the opportunity to network at different cohort events and can even recommend each other for upcoming job openings. The Master’s Program Office (MPO) is also very impactful in the success of students. They offer a plethora of resources such as class scheduling assistance and weekly updates on important MBA need to know information.
