Spring Break 2K10 – DC is the new Cancun

March 16th, 2010 by under Uncategorized. No Comments.

So as some of my classmates head to warmer locations for Spring Break, I find myself excited to enjoy my week off in the District of Columbia. Although laying on the beach and soaking in the rays while sipping on margaritas sounds like a great way to relax, so is spending my time editing my resume and working on my career search. However, the great part about my time off is that I have been fortunate enough to experience amazing DC weather in the 60s and even 70s some days! This means I was able to go running most of the week and keep up with my training for a 10 mile race I am so excited to be running in, in April. The Cherry Blossom 10 miler is a goal I set for myself when I first moved to DC about a year and a half ago and I can’t believe I am finally close to achieving this goal I set for myself. This will also be my first official race, as I never have been a real runner, let alone an athlete (unless we are counting cheerleading and dancing in high school).

Anyway, back to my life of leisure of being on spring break as a 20 something grad student. Once I re-enter the real working world, I do not think I will have opportunities like this to just sit in a coffee shop on a Monday next to my friend from B-school while we sip chai lattes and talk about life, love and business. So, I really am trying to cherish these moments as everyone tells me how much I will miss all the great memories I will make while in grad school. My time in business school is fleeting (I graduate in MAY!) and it really is a bit sad that this stressful, yet inspiring and thought provoking lifestyle of being a business school student will be over soon.
