  • Individual Armed with a Gun

    On Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at approximately 2:30 a.m. University of Maryland Police became aware of call for service in which a weapon was potentially involved.  This location was in close proximity to campus.   The Prince George’s County Police responded.   The initial reporting of this incident was hindered by a language barrier.  UMDPS sent an emergency text alert to community members based on the information available at that time.

    The subsequent investigation by the Prince George’s County Police determined that no crime was committed and no weapon was observed or implied.  This incident has been closed as unfounded by the Prince George’s County Police.

     

    PGPD are in the area of West Park Dr/Rt 193 investigating the report of an individual armed with a gun.

    Suspects are 2 black males, one wearing a white tank top and white shorts.

    The second wearing black shirt and black shorts.  They were last seen running away from campus towards 25th ave.

  • Off-campus Bank Robbery 9-16-2010

    INCIDENT: Off-campus Bank Robbery

    OCCURRED: September 16, 2010, at 12:42 p.m.

    LOCATION: 4500 Block of Knox Road / M&T Bank

    BRIEF DETAILS:

     

    Suspect entered premesis and committed bank robbery while armed. Suspect fled the premesis by unknown means. The money taken was in a money bag that contained a dye pack that has since exploded.

     

    Suspect Description: He is described as a male with a light complexion, 25-35 years of age, 120-130 pounds, close cut hair, thin mustache, red cap, blue polo shirt with a broad white stripe with a # 2 on the front of the shirt, and blue jeans.

  • Strong Arm Robbery 10-3-2010

    The following is a brief synopsis of information reported to the University Police:

    INCIDENT:     Strong Arm Robbery
    OCCURRED:     October 3, 2010 at 4:30 a.m.
    REPORTED:     October 3, 2010 at 4:30 a.m.
    LOCATION:     Anne Arundel Hall (exterior on McKeldin Mall side)

    BRIEF DETAILS:

    On October 3, 2010 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the victim was walking along the sidewalk behind Anne Arundel Hall towards Queen Anne Hall when he was accosted by three males.  The males tackled him (1 male specifically tackled him) to the ground and told him to give up his stuff.  He gave them his wallet and cell phone.  The males then fled in the direction of Lot 1.

    Description of Suspect(s):
    3 White Males
    1 was medium build 5’10”-6’2”, gray hooded-sweatshirt with horizontal darker gray stripes, dark pants, buzzed hair.
    No further description on other two suspects.
